Why you shouldn’t be afraid of labels put on you by society?
Let me start by telling you a story.
17 years back, Sneha was a girl despised by all her male classmates of 10th Standard. Boys used to call her names, make fun of her, abuse her verbally (of course not directly) & what not.
She gave little attention to “others opinions” & focused primarily on her studies & a few good friends.
With time, everything changed. She started a new life when she got admitted to college. The bad people from her past started to make less relevance in her life. Those who mattered still form a part of her life.
Today, she got married to a very successful person & the strange thing is that “same people now hold a very different opinion of her”. She has established herself as a renowned lawyer in a very short time. Her commitment & dedication has made her life beautiful again.
Life lessons from the story above:
° Labels put on you by society keeps on changing, whether positive or negative. So, don’t become arrogant if you are praised or appreciated by the society & don’t take it personally & on heart when you are looked down by the society.
° Focus on your dreams. It will help you to sail easily through all the odds.
° You shouldn’t care much about people whose sole aim is to despise & criticise others.
° You should always do what your heart & mind strongly supports. With time, you will garner the support of the society.
° It is very easy to tag someone as unkind, uncaring, hypocrite, shameless, rude, arrogant or even worse. But you must always be prepared for the labels. Labels shouldn’t deter you from doing WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT.
