Review of “When the Heavens Smiled” by Ritesh Arora
“When the Heavens Smiled” is a nice read that leaves you with optimism and positivity.
It is studded with lots of inspirational musings.
The story is about Sarthak who bags a job in Kolkata and falls in love with Sarangi- a beautiful Bengali girl.
The love between them remains unprofessed for long.
Both they enjoy the company of each other.
Here the story takes a turn.
As Ritesh Arora writes, “If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something”.
Sarangi is diagnosed with a medical condition and the doctors predict her life to be limited to next three months.
The story is highly inspirational as the protagonist carries a never-give-up attitude.
Be it negotiating with the security guard to let in Sarangi in his apartment, delaying the installation of CCTV’s in the apartment, getting a ring to propose Sarangi on credit, convincing KC to help the young cancer patient and later on giving a shot to everything that could possibly help to save Sarangi’s life.
Will Sarthak be able to save Sarangi’s life?
Can possibly a human change one’s destiny?
“When the heavens Smiled” provides an apt answer to above questions.
Words that touched the heart from “When the Heavens Smiled”:
-“Trains coming and leaving the platform teach you an important lesson of life- keep moving”.
-“Anxiety is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but doesn’t get you anywhere”.
